Zelda: A Link to the Past 2 To Have Light and Dark World, Best Played in 3D

Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma spoke about Link to the Past 2 for the 3DS with CNET. Why did Nintendo all of sudden decide to return to A Link to the Past? Aonuma said that because of the return to Zelda’s top-down approach, it was the perfect time to revisit the classic SNES game. Gameplay will switch between a light and dark world just like in the original SNES version.

Regarding Link’s ability to turn into a drawing, Aonuma revealed that the idea originated from the Phantom Ganon boss fight in Ocarina of Time. Aonuma hopes that players will experience the new Zelda with the 3DS' 3D effect turned on. While he believes fans will enjoy the title no matter what, Aonuma feels that you won’t be getting the full experience without any sort of 3D.
