SEGA and Gearbox Hit With Lawsuit For Falsely Advertising Aliens: Colonial Marines

SEGA and Gearbox Software are the defendants in a class action suit claiming the two companies falsely advertised Aliens: Colonial Marines with unrepresentative trade show demonstrations.

Damion Perrine has filed a class-action lawsuit in the state of California against both Gearbox and SEGA. The lawsuit claims that the companies used trade shows like E3 and PAX to falsely demonstrate a product that they knew to what would be delivered to the end user, citing claims by people such as Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford that what was being shown was “actual gameplay” as evidence of deliberate misinformation. Gearbox and SEGA conspired to keep the press from revealing just how truly awful the game was until it was too late for consumers to make an informed decision.
