Rumor - Next Gen Xbox Needs Internet Connection To Work, No Used Games

EDGE has published a new article covering supposed details of the Xbox 360 successor. The information is highlighted by a few items like a required Internet connected and redone Kinect hardware.

- Needs an Internet connection to work


- Games purchased on disc will ship with activation codes, and will have no value beyond the initial user - New iteration of Xbox Live planned

- This will be an integral part of the console


- Improved Kinect hardware will ship alongside the system


- Consumers will still be able to purchase physical games


- Games will be made on 50GB Blu-ray discs


- Rumored specs are apparently accurate (AMD eight-core x64 1.6GHz CPU, a D3D11.x 800MHz graphics solution and 8GB of DDR3 RAM)


- Hard drive undecided


- Sources told EDGE that Sony’s console is preferable when it comes to leveraging power


- Studios working with the next-gen Xbox are currently being forced to work with only approved development libraries


- Sony is encouraging coders to get closer to the metal of its box


- Next Xbox operating system is said to be more oppressive than Sony’s system


- Kinect will be more reliably responsive


- Sony’s next-generation console camera system is said to have a similar set of features
