Namco Bandai’s handling of the Ni no Kuni Wizard’s Edition is turning into a debacle. Stock of the special edition returned on the publisher’s online website on January 17th. Unfortunately, plenty of customers are now being told that their orders have been cancelled. This obviously isn’t going over well with consumers and fans of the game.
Digital River, distributor of Ni no Kuni Wizard’s Edition and handler of Namco Bandai’s online store, says it suffered a “glitch in their ordering system”. Not enough units were available for the high amount of orders. Those who reserved the Wizard’s Edition before January 17th will receive their copy. Purchases after this date, however, are cancelled .
A Digital River representative said: “If you placed your order on January 17 before the inventory was exhausted, you should have received an email notification stating that your order is being fulfilled. If you placed your order on January 17 after the inventory was exhausted, you should have received an email notification yesterday from Digital River stating that your order was canceled and that you will not be receiving Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch – Wizard’s Edition. Please be assured that your payment will be refunded.”
