Tomb Raider E3 2012 Gameplay Trailer

NetherRealm Studios Announces Injustice: Gods Among Us

NetherRealm, the studio behind the Mortal Kombat fighting series, is developing a new DC Comics-based fighting game called Injustice: Gods Among Us scheduled for release in 2013 across PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U, publisher Warner Bros. announced today.

Injustice promises to be a “bold new fighting game” with a “deep, original story” featuring a “large cast” of DC icons, including Batman, Harley Quinn, Solomon Grundy, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, and “many others.” It is set in a world where “the lines between good and evil are blurred,” and heroes and villains go head-to-head in epic battles on a “massive scale.”

“We can’t wait to reveal Injustice: Gods Among Us because it will give our fans and gamers an epic experience as they battle like gods as their favorite DC Comics villains and heroes,” said Ed Boon, Creative Director, NetherRealm Studios. “Our team is excited to make a fighting game that is filled with fast-paced action, incredible story-telling and iconic DC Comics characters.”

Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse - New Info

Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse is a third-person, local co-op game featuring Stewie and Brian as playable characters. The game is based off the alternate reality theory episode of Family Guy, “Road to the Multiverse.”

Instead of following from where the episode ended, Back to the Multiverse “continues the idea” of Brian and Stewie traveling to the multiverse” in a “completely original story” penned by Family Guy writers Mike Desilets and Anthony Blasucci, according to Activision producer Andy Owen.

Betram, Stewie’s half-brother, though dead, will make an appearance. “Since there are infinite multiverses, he could come into the Griffin family’s universe from one of the others,” said Owen. “We saw a good opportunity to use him as an evil force in the multiverse.”

The game is developed by Heavy Iron Studios, whose backlog includes licensed titles like The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie Game and the more recent UFC Personal Trainer. The game will put melee, guns, and power-ups to the test, and venture across universes including a world ruled by fraternity brothers and another ruled by the Amish. As characters enter new universes, their appearance will change to match.

Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse is due this fall for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
